  Formerly First Baptist Church, now replanted as Calvary Church, this is a warm, welcoming group of people seeking to grow genuine community both inside and outside their building's walls by making Jesus non-ignorable in La Junta and to the ends of the earth. Music is mostly led by acoustic guitar, an even blend of hymns and theologically sound worship songs, with regular additions from the pipe organ. Preaching is clear, expository teaching straight from scripture with an eye on practical application. Communion is shared every week. Lifelong believers to those just beginning to ask questions about God and the Christian faith are equally welcome and valued. Nursery care for kids 5 and under available every week, all childcare workers background checked. Regular service each Sunday at 10:45am, community group each Wednesday from 6-8pm for potluck dinner, fellowship, and discussion of previous Sunday's sermon scripture.
